The Creative Brief

A Creative Brief can be designed according to your own design aesthetics, however certain information should be included in this 1 page document for yourself or your client. Be clever with how you wish to visually indicate your purpose for your project. You can be very specific if you wish...include a timeline of how you plan to approach your project; what kind of text/typeface you plan to use and why; influences for your project; color palette; significant outcome for the project; and other important documentation which will build on it's core concept.

The sole purpose of a Creative Brief is for you to define your intention, solidify your message or objectives using the document to indicate to others your concept and what you expect in the final outcome presentation.

For each project you create in this course, a written/printed Creative Brief must accompany the project.

Here are a few clever examples of Creative Briefs:

The Creative Brief Document:

A creative brief is a document used by creative professionals and agencies to develop creative deliverables: visual design, copy, advertising, web sites, etc. The document is usually developed by the requestor and approved by the creative team of designers, writers, and project managers. In some cases, the project's creative brief may need creative director approval before work will commence.
